Highlights of 2017

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to have my new website live!! I thought I would start my blog off with showing you all my highlights from 2017! Last year was mostly a very good year for me and I hope that 2018 will be too! A few sad things happened such as my boyfriend having surgery and 2 of my gorgeous kitties passing away, but I suppose somewhere there needs to be a balance. But here are some of the best things of 2017…

It was full of colour walks!! I got to hang with some awesome ladies and made a few new friends. A collaboration with the one and only Katie Abey even came about too! The first walk was on April in Cambridge, the second in June in London and the third was August in Margate! Check out some of the pics below to see what we all got up to! Mainly posing in front of a camera!

Such fun times! As well as having lots of fun this year I have also achieved some pretty cool things too! Such as more stockists including REX and Laura Lea Design AND I have had 6 successful kickstarter campaigns! Yay! Of which I plan to continue growing/doing in 2018!

I faced one of my most strenuous adventures in 2017 too. You could say I went for a very long walk called the Camino De Santiago. It’s a spiritual walk in the North of Spain. I only took part in 5 days of walking though, the actual complete walk takes roughly 3/4 weeks all together. However I did walk over 75/80 miles within my 5 day time frame. It was one of the best experiences of my life!! So much to see along the way, being in the middle of absolute nowhere. You could literally get lost. It was certainly something everyone should experience.

In September I traded at Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade fair! I had previously visited the fair and had never felt brave enough to take part but I finally decided to give it a go and had such a fun time. I met lots of lovely people and even Kirstie herself!

Towards the end of the year I treated myself to some tattoos! I have always wanted lots of tattoos but can never seem to find the money for them! I saved up for a couple and you might recognise them both from my own artwork and Katie Abey. Katie’s work was a perfect design to have as a reminder of my kitty cat who passed away called Tammy. I always called her an owl!

To round the year up perfectly, my pins were on the telly!! Yay! Michael McIntyre’s Big show showed an actor as a crazy cat lady wearing 4 of my pins. Although I could only capture 2 in a screen shot!

2017 was full of many good memories and I cannot wait to see what 2018 will bring!

Nikky xx
